Progess Report Reflection

The Progress Report is broken into sections by the Long-Range Plan 2006-2020. The report reflects progress made by Texas public schools and goals of the Long Range Plan. The report shows examples from students and teachers around the state of Texas using Technology from K-12th grade. It was interesting to learn about the Technology Immersion Pilot and that my school district took part of it. The pilot was broken into to immersion groups high and low. There were positive benefits from this pilot and areas where it worked more than for the other group. Texas Virtual School Network was mentioned in the report, if a student takes full advantage of the network, I feel they can truly gain from it. The report then strategically expounds on each key area of the Long Range Plan. For an example, shows data to support each section. The data effectively showed patterns in area by trend, ethnicity, and withdrawal trends. Data toward the Educators and their use of professional data was displayed. Page 106 of the Long-Range Plan for Technology 2006-2020 shows the capabilities, levels of understanding and patterns of use of technology. Without the support of leadership it would be hard to implement new technology for the teacher and students to be effective. It takes a great deal of planning and funds to insure a positive outcome.
